Wastewater Sludge Management & Disposal is an intensive two-day training course designed for wastewater engineers, wastewater treatment plant supervisors and process controllers, environmental process engineers, and those with responsibility for the management & disposal of wastewater sludge. The course starts with a review of sludge management and disposal options. This is followed by the selection of management options, which includes good sludge management practices, the legal framework for sludge use and disposal, comprehensive characterization of sludge, preliminary classification of sludge and selecting an appropriate management option.
We then look at various requirements: for the agricultural use of wastewater sludge; for the on-site and off-site disposal of sludge; for the beneficial use of sludge at high loading rates and for thermal sludge management practices and commercial products containing sludge. At the end of the 1st day attendees are given a short Multiple Choice Questionnaire to complete, followed by a feedback session the following day. Opportunity is also provided to discuss specific case studies.
